Mmabana Foundation’s talented gymnastics and tumbling coach Lebogang Ramokopelwa and the tumbler, Gaofenngwe Tlatsana received the highest accolades, when they were announced as South African tumbling coach of the year and the South African Tumbling Gymnast of the year respectively at the South African Gymnastics Awards 2016 held in Boksburg, Johannesburg on the 18th June 2016.

This annual event is hosted by the South African Gymnastics Federation wherein the South African Trampoline and Tumbling Committee ‎come together to evaluate Gymnasts’ performance and results of the previous year to conclude which gymnast performed better than the rest in the country at the highest level of tumbling.  GaofenngweTlatsana became the first gymnast to qualify for World Age Group games and became one of two gymnasts who qualified in the whole country. He finished 18th in the world, won Gold medal at Indo Pacific Championship and he is the reigning National Champion.

Lebogang Ramokopelwa is the only coach to have produced two National Tumbling team members in 2015. His club (Mmabana Mahikeng) had more gymnasts at the highest level of tumbling than any other coach in the country in all competitions. Under his tutelage, Mmabana Mahikeng gymnasts held the highest qualifying marks in the past year.

As if being declared coach of the year was not enough, Ramokopelwa has been named the new member of the South African Tumbling & Trampoline Development Committee. The functions of the committee are to assist the federation in the development of tumbling; evaluate the process of how tumbling grows around the country; contribute knowledge in how South Africa can grow tumbling as well as assisting to develop the national team since most members are from Mahikeng.

Ramokopelwa is a Mmabana Mahikeng Tumbling Coach, Bokone Bophirima tumbling coach as well as South African Tumbling Team Coach‎. He is also a level 3 tumbling coach, 2 levels away from being a master coach, currently the best tumbling coach in the country.
